Rotator Cuff Rehabilitation
Rotator cuff recovery from conservative management through post-surgical return to full function.
Rotator Cuff Recovery That Lasts
Whether you’re managing a rotator cuff tear conservatively or recovering from surgical repair, the goal is the same: restore strength, eliminate compensatory patterns, and get back to using your arm without thinking about it. At Forward, we build progressive shoulder programs grounded in objective measurement — not guesswork.
Conservative or Post-Surgical
Not every rotator cuff tear needs surgery. We assess your strength deficits, functional limitations, and goals to determine the best path. For surgical repairs, we follow evidence-based timelines that protect the repair while progressively loading tissue — because both under-loading and over-loading lead to poor outcomes.
What We Measure
- Shoulder strength — supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis, deltoid
- ROM — active and passive in all planes
- Scapular mechanics — dyskinesis and motor control
- Functional capacity — overhead reach, carrying, sport/work demands
- ASES & QuickDASH — validated outcome scores
Beyond Theraband
Rotator cuff rehab isn’t just resistance bands. We progress from isometric activation through isotonic strengthening to sport- and work-specific loading. Manual therapy and dry needling address tissue restrictions. Exercise builds the capacity to keep them open.
