Who We Are

Kristen and I started Forward to build the kind of practice we always wanted to work in, and to help raise the standard of what physical therapy can be. We are proud to be among the leaders in our profession, and prouder still of the team we have built around that vision.

Forward is an independent group of expert clinicians who share one standard: do excellent work, keep learning, and treat people well. We have been intentional about bringing together like-minded clinicians who love the craft and push each other to be better. Expert clinicians without an ego, who genuinely enjoy the work and the people they do it with.

Care here is led by Doctors of Physical Therapy and practiced through direct access, with progressive loading, real conditioning, objective testing, and a full hour with every patient. But what makes Forward special is the people. This is a team that feels like family, and a place clinicians are proud to call home. And what we’ve built is every bit a credit to our staff — the clinicians who bring their passion and energy to the floor every single day.

What We’re Building

Forward is built on a simple idea: connect exercise science to clinical practice, measure everything that matters, and give clinicians the environment to do their best work.

We’re leading the way in direct-access physical therapy — the way the profession is meant to be practiced. We don’t wait for another provider to send a referral; we see patients first and triage their care accordingly. You evaluate, you design the plan of care, and you set the course from objective data.

We build our own software, too — an entire ecosystem, designed by clinicians for clinicians. Lune, our practice platform, runs the whole clinic: from patient onboarding through clinical documentation, and it lets you complete your notes inside the session, so you’re not charting at night. Return+, our clinical testing engine, is built right in — putting objective data like strength, conditioning, function, and patient-reported outcomes at the center of every plan of care, so you can drive treatment decisions and advocate for every visit your patients deserve.

We focus on what actually extends lives: aerobic fitness, muscle mass, bone density, functional capacity. We get upstream, because physical therapists are the most qualified providers to do it.

We built the tools, the systems, and the environment. We’re not done building, and we’re looking for like-minded clinicians to build it with us.

A place built to make you better

The clinicians we talk to want the same thing: to work alongside people who are as invested in the craft as they are. We built the week around it.

Weekly caseload rounds

We bring our hardest cases to the group and solve them together. Nobody practices alone here.

Quarterly clinical intensive

A half-day, all-hands deep dive to sharpen how we evaluate, load, and progress our patients.

Huddle & Hustle

A paid hour every Thursday where the team trains together. We practice what we prescribe.

Why You’ll Like It Here

A team that feels like family. Tight-knit, supportive, people who like coming to work.

Real autonomy. Your clinical judgment leads.

Full 60-minute visits, with the time to actually treat.

Progressive loading and real conditioning, with objective testing built in.

Mentorship and a team to grow alongside.

Independent and PT-owned, so good judgment leads.

Finish your notes in the session. We built our own documentation system, so you’re not charting at night.

A schedule built around your life. Young kids, older kids, or no kids — we build your weekly schedule with you, around the life you actually have.

Paid like the professional you are

We built Forward around a simple belief: a great clinician should earn a great living, with full benefits and a schedule that fits their life — without seeing more patients than good care allows.

We pay you well for a caseload built around quality, not volume — the way it should be.

Competitive pay with real upside — a competitive base plus a transparent bonus that rewards the care you deliver.

Full benefits — medical, dental, and vision.

Paid time off to actually rest and recharge.

Retirement — SIMPLE IRA with a company match.

Continuing-education budget every year, because we expect you to keep growing.

More than four walls

Great physical therapy doesn’t stay inside the clinic. It’s core to how we work: we build relationships across our communities — with schools, employers, and local organizations — so we can reach people where they are.

In Edgerton, that’s grown into the sports-medicine program for the local school district, a health-capacity program in partnership with the district, and onsite occupational-health contracts with area employers. In Fitchburg, we’re developing those same kinds of relationships as they come up.

If sports medicine or occupational health is your thing, there’s real room to grow into it. And if it isn’t? That’s fine too — we’ve found that passionate clinicians thrive in our system regardless of where they started. Bring the drive to do great work and keep learning, and we’ll help you build the rest.

And if you’re a clinician with big dreams for where this profession can go, we’ll likely find a spot for you.
