Edgerton High School Sports Medicine

Official sports medicine provider for Edgerton School District athletics.

Forward Physical Therapy is the contracted sports medicine provider for the Edgerton School District. We provide daily after-school athletic training coverage and on-site event coverage for contracted athletic events throughout the school year.

What We Provide

  • Daily after-school sports medicine coverage — 2 hours per day during the athletic season, on-site at Edgerton High School
  • Athletic event coverage — contracted sideline coverage for athletic events
  • Injury assessment and triage — immediate evaluation of acute injuries on the field and in the training room
  • Return-to-play decisions — evidence-based protocols for determining when an athlete is safe to return after injury
  • Concussion management — systematic screening and return-to-activity protocols
  • Injury prevention — movement screening, warm-up programming, and load management guidance for coaches and athletes
  • Rehabilitation coordination — seamless transition from sideline to clinic when an athlete needs formal physical therapy

Working with Adolescent Athletes

Adolescent athletes aren’t small adults. Growing bodies have open growth plates, developing neuromuscular control, and different injury patterns than adult populations. Overuse injuries, apophysitis, ACL tears in young females, and concussion management all require specialized knowledge and a conservative, evidence-based approach.

Our clinicians work with Edgerton athletes every day — in the training room, on the sideline, and in our clinic. We see these kids through acute injuries, post-surgical rehab, and return-to-sport testing. That daily relationship means we know each athlete’s history, their sport demands, and their readiness level. When a decision needs to be made about whether an athlete can play, we have the context to make it responsibly.

From Sideline to Clinic

When an Edgerton athlete needs physical therapy beyond what the training room provides, the transition is seamless. The same clinicians who evaluate them at practice are the ones who treat them in our Edgerton clinic — 102 W Fulton St, minutes from the high school. No paperwork handoff, no repeating your history, no starting over.

For athletes recovering from ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, or other post-surgical procedures, our Return+ testing platform tracks strength symmetry, hop performance, balance, and psychological readiness across every phase of recovery. We use the same structured, data-driven protocols for a 16-year-old soccer player as we do for a 25-year-old D1 athlete — because the standard of care shouldn’t change based on the level of competition.

For Parents

If your child plays sports at Edgerton, our clinicians are available at practices and covered events. If an injury happens, we can provide immediate evaluation and guide next steps. If physical therapy is needed, our Edgerton clinic is minutes from the school — and because the same team handles sideline care and clinic rehab, nothing gets lost in translation.
